Mr Bush's Visit To Canada

Well, that was very interesting in a kind of surreal way. No great surprises, but at least he acknowledged our right to disagree with aspects of US forgein policy. It was very nice of him to finally thank Canadians generally and those areas in particular who did so much to help out with the influx of stranded passengers immediatly following the Sept 11th attacks.
His pleas for us to support the war in Iraq and the US missle defence innitiative of course fell on deaf ears. He made two extremely humourous remarks while he was here, the first being the "Jean Poutine" remark and the second being the one when he thanks the people who were waving all 5 fingers at him.
All in all a successful trip, in that the US president came to Canada inorder to mend fences with its closest friend and neighbour. Now he just has to work on the rest of the world

Well Grinder, firstly, thanks for taking the time to visit my Blog.

Secondly whether you or I think Mr Bush needs to mend fences, HE obviously did, or he wouldn't have come here, would he?

As much as you might like to think otherwise, I can guarantee you that someone on his staff has been tasked with the job of coming up with ways to mend fences in Europe, Where Mr Bush, and American policies are much less popular then they are in Canada
